The information currently available on geographical distribution, biology, epidemiology, potential entry pathways, potential additional impact and availability of control measures of non‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content> isolates of <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content> has been evaluated with regard to the criteria to qualify as a potential Union quarantine pest. Because non‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content> isolates of <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content> are absent from the <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content>, they do not meet one of the requirements to be regulated as a regulated non‐quarantine pest (<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">RNQP</styled-content>) (presence in the <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content>); as a consequence, the Panel decided not to evaluate the other <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">RNQP</styled-content> criteria for these isolates. This categorisation was performed considering two lineages, <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content>‐I (present in and outside the <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content>) and <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content>‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">II</styled-content> (not reported in the <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content>), and isolate <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content>‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PA</styled-content>4 (unknown distribution). Non‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content> isolates of <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content>‐I and <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PVV</styled-content>‐<styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">PA</styled-content>4 do not meet one of the criteria evaluated by <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EFSA</styled-content> to be regarded as a potential Union quarantine pest, since they are not expected to have an additional impact in the <styled-content style="fixed-case" toggle="no">EU</styled-content>.
